35 people, including 26 children, killed and injured in explosion accidents in Libya during a year
The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has announced that 35 people were killed or injured in explosive ordnance related accidents between April 2023 and April 2024. 26 of those were children.
The UNSMIL Mine Action Section Chief Fatma Zourrig said that in the last five years, more than 400 people have been injured or killed in explosive ordnance related accidents, 35 of those happened in the last year. 26 of those victims were children.
Dbeibah proposes to private sector investing in operating state-owned factories
The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah proposed offering public factories that haven't been operational for investment and operation to the private sector, directing the Minister of Industry and Minerals to provide the necessary facilities to support them in activating these complexes.
Dbeibah's proposal came in his speech at the opening of the International Conference on Industry and Technology, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Minerals under the slogan “Prospects for Investment, Partnership and Technology Transfer in Industry,” with the participation of a number of countries, which began Monday in Tripoli.

EU ambassador calls for protecting Libyan cultural heritage from looting and smuggling
The European Union (EU) Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, called for the need to protect Libyan cultural heritage from plunder, trafficking and vandalism, noting that the heritage represents “rich and shared Mediterranean roots."
The EU Ambassador opened Sunday in Tripoli an international conference on protecting the Libyan cultural heritage, in which 20 experts from five European countries, archaeological missions and representatives of law enforcement agencies from Italy participated, in cooperation with the Department of Antiquities and the Tourist Police of the Ministry of the Interior.
